Taiwan personal computer maker Acer Inc. on Friday said its net profit for the third quarter rose 14% from the previous year on the rise of global demand.

In the July-September period, Acer recorded net profit of 3.47 billion Taiwan dollars (U.S. $ 107 million), compared with U.S. $ 3.04 billion a year ago.

Since the economic recovery, increased replacement activity, Acer said. “While demand remains sensitive to price, the buyer willing to pay for value-added applications and features,” the company said in a statement.

“In the last three months, Acer sales amounted to U.S. $ 167.62 billion, compared with U.S. $ 159.16 billion last year,” stated the company.
